Wrinkles and Crepey Skin

What is unwanted hair?

If you’re like most people, you want a lot of hair on your head, as much as you can get, but you may find hair on other areas of the body to be more of a nuisance than anything. It is subjective, but most women do not want male pattern hair growth – on the beard, mustache, or even bikini, armpits, arms, legs, etc. Many men also want hair removal in the same areas and other areas like the chest or back. It’s really all up to you, what hair don’t you like?

What causes unwanted hair?

Hair growth patterns are very genetic and people of certain races or ethnicities have different patterns of hair growth. So you may grow a lot (or a little) body hair and it may be totally normal for you. Even for women with hair growth on the chin (beard) or upper lip (mustache), it may not mean anything is wrong with your hormones, it may just be you. Typically, people will say that they’ve always had “hairy arms”, or legs, or a lot of hair in the bikini area, etc.

A sudden change in hair growth patterns on the body, or acceleration or slowing of hair growth, especially in conjunction with other symptoms may require investigation to rule out an underlying cause.

Where do you get unwanted hair?

Unwanted hair can occur on the face or body, including on the chest, back, armpits, mustache, beard, bikini area, arms, legs. If you have more hair than you’d like anywhere, you can have it removed.
